BGG..GM...question..If a person exchanged all their dinar at whatever price it began and then if they thought there was still the possiblity of the dinar increasing in value...could they not deposit their money in a US bank that would allow them to have it held in the form of Iraqi Dinar and thus participate in any future increase?

I can also change my holdings back and forth from different currencys if wanted and the bank likes this because of the fee they impose each time I make a change

No..I am saying exchange all of the dinar for dollars and then take the dollars to a bank like HSBC that allows you to deposit your dollars in their bank in the form of different currencys.

You may deposit some of your US dollars in the form of Canadian Dollars. As the Canadian dollars increases or decreases in value in relation to the US dollar, then your account balance with the Canadian dollar also reflects the change in value

I would not send USD to Iraq banks now like Tony Brietling advocates due to the corruption and instability in their whole banking system.I would guess that once their currency is internationlly traded,you could buy their stock threw a US based stock company.I could be wrong.

Why not just exchange a portion of your dinar when the currency becomes international? Keep the remaining dinar in your possession for a later time when or if the value increases and then exchange more of your dinar currency. This would allow you to be in control of your currency. JMO

i understand the logic behind wishing to keep dinars in an 'account' for safe keeping....but if you keep it in a bank, what makes you so sure its safe there?
